WHY WON'T WE CHANGE?
Jacquelyn Fedor
This article needs to be read in full to be understandable
There are so many promises of God that we as His people have not had the privilege of experiencing. No-one has totally experienced all God has promised in the past, so it only makes sense that we are not understanding all there is to understand, and that there are keys that we just do not have as yet. However, if God reveals these keys line upon line, and precept upon precept so to speak, and we will not listen or change, what good is it? Why should God bother? Why should His revealers spend the time in research (after God tells them something) that it takes to prove the revelation is scriptural, before releasing what God has said to the body, if no-one is going to accept it anyway? What are some of these promises that we have not received as yet because we will not change?
KINGDOM DOMINION
We have been promised a kingdom where we will have dominion! It is to be an everlasting kingdom that the Lord's rules will apply, and all nations will obey Him.
Dan. 7:27
27 Then the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.'
Jesus was of the offspring of Abraham through Isaac and Jacob. He was of the tribe of Judah and His lineage was that of David. So all that are born again through Jesus receive His name and therefore, His lineage. The promises made to what are now our forefathers are still in effect for us today, as our God is a covenant keeping God.
To David He promises that in (God's name), the horn or authority that David would have would be exalted. In other words there would be power in the name of God that David and his seed would have access to.
Ps. 89:24-26
24 "But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him, and in My name his horn shall be exalted.
25 Also I will set his hand over the sea, and his right hand over the rivers.
26 He shall cry to Me, 'You are my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.'
There are many names of God. Which name did He mean?
Matt. 28:18-19
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Isa. 9:6-7
6 For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Phil. 2:9-10
9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
So for salvation and dominion, what name do we use?
Acts 2:38-39
38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 "For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call."
Gal. 3:27-29
27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
So, after reading this, can we see the importance of using the name God chooses for salvation and baptism?
MANY NAMES OF GOD
For healing we know God as Jehovah Rophe. For miracles we call on Jehovah Nissi. For provision we know Him as Jehovah Jireh, and on and on. Rohe is our Shepherd, Jehovah Shammah is always with us, etc. All these names and many more, including Jesus, are names of God, and it is His prerogative as to which we should use and with what result. I do not make up the "spiritual laws" - God does! The one name of Jesus, or Yeshua, can do all things. This simplifies things for us. Since Jesus is the name above all others, in His name we have authority over sickness and evil spirits etc. "All authority" He gives to us through this name that is above all names. Why not be baptized in that name if that is what He wants?
Acts 4:11-12
11 "This is the 'stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.'
12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
Here is how the early church baptized. This was before false doctrine entered.
Acts 8:16
16 For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Acts 10:48
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.
Acts 19:5
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
If you can show me where anyone "ever" baptizes in the titles of Father, or Son, or Holy Spirit, I will stand corrected, but I do not find it anywhere. An example: My son's name is William, or Bill, but his position in my life is my son, or I title him as my son, but again, his name is William. As we saw in Isaiah 9. Jesus is the Son and He is the Father, etc. but His name is Jesus. Why do we fight so? Just get it right and do not be afraid to change. Change is all God asks of us.
THE GODHEAD
Another example: There are so many different ideas about the Godhead. How does man, who is as clay in the hand of the potter, think he can understand his creator? He is bigger than the largest volcano! A hurricane is but a blast of His nostril! He not only made the universe, but named every star and planet in every galaxy. But God is a Spirit.
John 4:24
24 "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
2 Cor. 3:17
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Col. 2:8-9
8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;
Col. 1:27
27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
A spirit needs a body to be visible to man.
1 Cor. 3:16
16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
John 14:17-18
17 "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
18 "I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
John 14:12
12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
Why will we do greater works? Because there are more of us that God is dwelling in.
Eph. 2:22
22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
Eph. 3:17-19
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height--
19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
What I am trying to say here is that I do not have to understand the Godhead. His thoughts and His ways are so far from my comprehension that why even try? But He does express His desire to dwell in us and use our vessels to accomplish His works on earth. So what we need to do is find out how we can be the best vessels we can be for Him and let Him be who He is in us. I am not a "trinitarian", I am not "oneness", I am a child of God trying to please my Father by allowing Him to use me in whatever fashion He chooses and even that becomes a problem because here again, man has determined who should be used and who should not!
So we do not have the Kingdom established, partly because we do not take His name in baptism, and we do not understand it is Christ in us that is the hope of this glory. Also, we as mankind want to choose our leadership (just like the people in Saul's time), and dictate to God who He should live through and what He can do through them. Why can we not change?
WHO WILL BE USED?
It will not be the unholy church God calls Babylon. She is the dwelling place of demons, not God!
Rev. 18:2-3
2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, "Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!
3 "For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury."
Many will not want to give her up because their pensions and salaries are dependent on her. But the faithful will be obedient to the call of God at verse four.
Rev. 18:4
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.
We must be cleaned up with no spot or wrinkle to be the dwelling place of God. (We will be the dwelling place either of Satan in Babylon, or God in Zion or in New Jerusalem, however). There is no middle road to walk on.
1 Cor. 10:21
21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the table of demons.
2 Cor. 6:16-17
16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people."
17 Therefore "Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you."
We must separate from those that will not come out of the world's religion and the system of man if we are to receive the promise God has made to us.
2 Cor. 7:1
1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Yieldedness, holiness, submissiveness, willingness and obedience are the things God looks for in a vessel. Not our talent, intellect or sex. God is who He is in us, and we are only vessels. If you put an object in a little box and an object (exactly the same as the first) in a big box, does that make the boxes one better than the other? Does God pick one box or vessel over the other because they are male or female, or educated or talented? The scriptures say no!
John 1:12
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
Gal. 3:26-29
26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
Those that meet with His requirements are His vessels.
Acts 10:34-35
34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: "In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.
35 "But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.
Is God the same yesterday as today?
Heb. 13:8
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
He said what He could work with was those with a broken heart and a contrite spirit.
Ps. 34:18
18 The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.
Ps. 51:17
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart-- these, O God, You will not despise.
Isa. 57:15
15 For thus says the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
He also did not say He could only use men or only use women, different nationalities, nor does He put an emphasis on anything but holiness, brokenness and yieldedness. As to the women issue, Deborah judged Israel for 40 years as Israel's judge. Surely in 40 years, some male priest could have informed her she was out of order! Also, you would think God would have the wisdom to not allow her to be an example of leadership. She operated in not one, but two offices. She was a prophetess as well as functioning as a commander in chief (the apostolic).
Judg. 4:4-8
4 Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, was judging Israel at that time.
5 And she would sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the mountains of Ephraim. And the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
6 Then she sent and called for Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, "Has not the LORD God of Israel commanded, 'Go and deploy troops at Mount Tabor; take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun;
7 'and against you I will deploy Sisera, the commander of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude at the River Kishon; and I will deliver him into your hand'?"
8 And Barak said to her, "If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go!"
She had the respect of the men of Israel.
In the New Testament, much of what was said to women that is misused by the religious church to keep them from the offices, was to correct those caught up in idol worship or other adverse circumstances. The women that were walking properly did not need to be addressed. They knew their place in God and were accepted by the early church.
The most misunderstood is the description of the physical relationship in a marriage, however. The account was used to portray the physical relationship of Christ and His Bride. He provides, protects and lovingly covers the church. The church (made up of both men and women) should look to Him (through the offices) as the covering, and for provision. If she (the church) depends on herself for provision and covering, she is quite likely to bring the curse of Jeremiah 17:5 on herself.
Jer. 17:5
5 Thus says the LORD: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the LORD.
Likewise, if women trust in themselves for covering (in the home), they are not allowing the Jesus in their husbands to be who He is on their behalf. Likewise, if the church does not allow her Husband (Christ in us) to cover her through the vessels He chooses to use on her behalf, she is cursed! It is not about domination and control of man, but about the love and protection of Christ through mankind. A married woman can never be who she is as a vessel if she does not have this submissive nature to God's arrangement of things. The church will never be who she is promised to be (the church triumphant) till she is submissive to God's ways either.
Again, through the husband He covers the home. Through the offices He covers the church. If men do not pray and spiritually allow the Christ within to cover their family, they are the un-submissive ones. If those chosen for office in the church do not pray and cover the flock, they are the un-submissive ones.
Eph. 5:25-30
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
There is so much to be said here, but the bottom line is seen in verse 32.
Eph. 5:32
32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
None of this concerning gender roles in a physical marriage, has anything to do with the gender of the vessels Christ will use to guide His church, however. He (a male) is who He is through both men and women. They are just vessels. He is not interested in their gender, just their obedience. If He chooses to use a vessel (man or woman) to be a teacher, pastor, evangelist, prophet or apostle through them, He demands respect from the His wife (the church) for Himself. He is the head of the church (as a husband) through the vessels He chooses to govern the body through.
When we begin to see that it is (Christ in us), then we will stop putting each other down and the Kingdom of God can really be established in love. If Christ wants to use a vessel of the female gender and we will not allow it because of our doctrine, then we are stopping the body of Christ from coming together in its full stature. Offices will go unfulfilled that He meant to work through, and the church will be as useless to her husband as a wife in the natural home is of no use if she cannot see the Jesus in her husband!
Eph. 4:13
13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
Why can we not change?
SEPARATION
Here is another subject that stirs so much controversy. God said in 1 Peter 2:9 that we are a chosen generation. As government, "a royal priesthood", or as the flock, "a holy nation". It goes on to say we are a special people called out of darkness. Well, if God calls the luke-warm, Adamic, dead church, with her lies and false doctrines, Babylon, and He asks us to get out of her, how can we say we are separate if we do not follow His orders? Many times people will say we must remain among them to help them grow to where they will hear truth one day. That is not God, though, because He says: "Come out of her, My people, lest you share in her sin." Preach truth to her to bring out the sheep but do not socialize with her.
At Psalm 102:18 it prophesies of this separate generation.
Ps. 102:18
18 This will be written for the generation to come, that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD.
These ones are different from the Adamic race they were originally born into. They are separate, born again ones. Ones born of God. Adam and Eve were born of God as eternal beings, but they listened to the devil's lies and so were born again into Satan. Their offspring, therefore, were cursed and died from then on also!
Jesus died (gave His life for ours) and was resurrected to pay the penalty of death that was spoken over Adam's race. (The ministry of reconciliation is God in Christ providing atonement for our sins).
2 Cor. 5:19
19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. (The early church understood that God was in the body suit of Jesus).
He took our sin on the cross and endured the penalty that we deserved and gave us the opportunity to be born again through Him. If we are born again, should we turn back to the ways of Adam? Should we uphold false doctrine and the lies of Satan just because that is the way we have been taught? The word of God says to not be unequally yoked with people that do not believe truth (an unbeliever is not just a person that does not know God. It is also those that do not develop a love of truth).
2 Cor. 6:14-16
14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people."
So we are, if we want the promises God made to His people. We must be born again (in His name and be separate from Adam) and see Him in all vessels.
CAN WE CHANGE?
We will die if we do not receive the revelation as God opens the seals and reveals His desires to mankind. When we turn our back on truth (He is truth), we turn our back on God. Satan caused man's rebirth into himself through lies, now God offers rebirth into Himself through truth. If we do not develop a love of this truth, (learn to enjoy Lamb) God will give us up to a spirit of delusion and we will believe Satan's lies as did Adam, and give up our new birthright. We will become the home of Satan, the lawless ones, the ones anti the anointing: Antichrist!
2 Thess. 2:9-12
9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, (the deluded ones) because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
In closing, let us read these scriptures:
Rom. 5:12
12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned--
Rom. 5:21
21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness (not the lies of false doctrine) to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Cor. 15:21-22
21 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
Here is the good news for those that can receive it.
1 Cor. 15:23
23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, (afterward) those who are Christ's at His coming.
Christ's at His coming! It is Christ in us, the hope of glory. He is coming through us! If we can just see the Jesus in each other, we will come together as His head through His offices (Zion) and His body (New Jerusalem, His Bride). We will begin to come to the full stature of Christ that the lawless one can be defeated and the Kingdom be restored. We will not be cursed as a man of dust, but blessed and in the image of Jesus.
1 Cor. 15:48-49
48 As was the man of dust, (cursed Adam) so also are those who are made of dust (us before rebirth); and as is the heavenly Man (Jesus), so also are those who are heavenly. (the born again)
49 And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.
Here is what it is all about now:
1 Cor. 15:51-52
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed--
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound (revelation will be released), and the dead will be raised incorruptible (from the dead and luke-warm church), and we shall be changed.
